We at Gateacre Unitarian Chapel firmly believe that spirituality and faith are for everyone (not just cishet people!). As Unitarians, we take an inclusive approach to spirituality and are proud to support and uplift the trans community in every aspect of our Chapel community. We believe that everyone has their own individual journey with spirituality and faith and that all identities are to be respected. Our Chapel is led by Pastor Sian Murray, a proud lesbian woman and an outspoken supporter of the entire LGBTQ+ community. We are proud to be able to conduct same sex weddings, along with trans naming ceremonies and many other affirming celebrations. Unitarians are a welcoming faith group who take inspiration from all faiths and none, we are loud in our support of the trans community and you will regularly see us marching at Pride. There are no hidden agendas or secret messages of hate. There are inclusive faith groups out there where welcome truly does mean welcome! (P.S. There is one toilet in the Chapel that will always and forever remain gender neutral!)
